Herausforderungen der Befragung von Migrantinnen und Migranten im Mikrozensus

Im Zuge der Neugestaltung der Mikrozensus-Erhebung im Jahr 2004 sollte auch die Qualität der Informationen über in Österreich lebende Migrantinnen und Migranten verbessert werden. Die Übersetzung der Erhebungsunterlagen und der Einsatz mehrsprachiger Interviewerinnen und Interviewer alleine sind dafür nicht hinreichend. Vielmehr müssen in allen Stadien einer Erhebung Überlegungen zur möglichstguten Erfassung der Situation von Migrantinnen und Migranten angestellt werden. Der vorliegende Beitrag berichtet über spezifische Herausforderungen der Mikrozensuserhebung bei Migrantinnen und Migranten sowie von Statistik Austria gesetzte Maßnahmen.
